Part Time & Full Time Openings

We periodically have openings for housekeeping, summer interns, garden staff or weekend and event help.

We currently have the following openings available:

RESIDENT INNKEEPER(S) - Full Time Position


We are looking for a resident innkeeper(s) to join our small and dedicated team! This position is a full-time residency on the Irwin property. Rent and utility costs are included as well as work cell and a monthly grocery budget. Living space includes a 1-2 car garage, personal gardening area, two private upstairs rooms, private bath and shared access to kitchen and sitting room. Flexible time off.


Note: We stay very busy April-October, and this position is best-suited for a couple, or two friends applying together. However, individual applicants will also be considered. This position reports to the Property Owner. Two-year commitment preferred.

Responsibilities Include: 

• Checking in overnight guests from 4-6pm. After 6pm, guests have the option to do a self-check in procedure. 

• Preparing breakfast 5 mornings a week.

• Limited guest room housekeeping and some light housekeeping for shared work areas. 

• Taking reservations by phone or online, processing payments and overnight guest-related invoicing. 

• Answering the business phone and email between 10-6pm. (Returning phone calls within 24 hours)

• Coordinating housekeeper(s) schedules. 

• Scheduling any house maintenance, repairs or inspections as needed. 

• Social media and advertising.

• Must be able to go up and down stairs, climb ladders and carry up to 50lbs.

GARDEN STAFF MEMBER - Part Time, Seasonal


We are looking for an additional garden staff member to join our groundskeeping work force! This is a part-time position and will continue until the end of October. This position reports to our Head Gardener. Flexible time off. Prior experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities include: 

• Watering, weeding and pruning

• Cleaning and maintaining water fountains

• Planting and maintaining flower beds

• Must be able to go up and down stairs, climb ladders and carry up to 50lbs. 

• Must be able to be around chemicals such as bleach, copper sulfide, algaecide, seven, herbicide, etc.

• Must be flexible on work hours, we try to not work in the heat of the day.

• Must have some knowledge of gas powered equipment.

• Must be willing to get dirty and sweaty.

Volunteer Opportunites

We use a mix of both paid staff and volunteers to help oversee public garden hours and give guided tours. Our volunteers/staff participate in our special open-to-the-public events to help greet visitors, pass out information or enrich visitors immersive experience. 

Volunteers can choose to be one-time only or can make regular recurring commitments according to their schedule. Your participation is invaluable to us continuing our programs!

This is a 4-hour commitment to be available in the gardens during our public garden hours to hand out visitor information, answer questions and monitor visitor activity. We are currently needing someone on Tuesdays from 2:00-6:00pm, now through the end of October.  

We appreciate as many days as you are willing and available to offer! We highly value our volunteers as their efforts allow us to continue open the gardens to the public at no charge.
